Telling Tales

Sera Waters 35-50

My early ancestors in South Australia lived near Tantanoola and had a cheese factory there and I wonder if their lives coincided with the mystery of the Tantanoola tiger. The dates from 1891-1895 I’ve extended to now as there are still thylacine sightings or of mysterious creatures in the area making this a strange tale that still holds interest. In the late 1800s the Tantanoola tiger became a legend and it was hunted because it was taking sheep. If you’ve been to the Tantanoola pub you’ll see what was captured and shot – the tiger was a wolf!
