My work is a map of “Senior Park”. It is a small part of large properties once owned by the Scottish Australia Company. It is situated in an area once known as the ninety mile desert.
Although, supporting mallee, banskia’s, pink gums, and stringy bark, crops and stock did not thrive. In the 1950’s and 60’s it was discovered that the soil was lacking in essential trace elements and minerals.
Super Phosphate applied before cropping and on pasture changed the country to productive dryland Lucerne and cropping country. Also producing lambs and cattle for market, and fine wool.
Super phosphate is an annual expense that is considered essential.
PS. The Redroad in my map is the Red Bluff Road hence the colour
