In 1937 Mount Gambier was reported to have sightings of a ghost! Descriptions of the ghost claim that it was totally white, with glowing yellow eyes and a large grin.

Two men said it looked like a man wearing a woman’s dress over his head.

After several sightings, it is reported that a religious man spotted the ghost looking at him through is window. He pulled out a gun and shot towards the ghost, wounding him. The grinning ghost ran off and was never seen again.
