The Southern Bent-wing Bat is one of the critically endangered mammals in Australia. The bats are cave dwellers and give birth to their young in caves known as maternity caves. One such cave is situated in our back yard at the Naracoorte Caves National Park. The bats are nocturnal, emerging from the caves at night to feed on moths, beetles and insects whilst in flight.
