Telling Tales

Adam Lindsay Gordon was a bit of a larrikin in the area and a local policeman. He resigned from the police force and pursued his love for horses. In July 1864 he performed a daring stunt by leaping on horseback over the fence surrounding their Lake on to a small ledge. He also leapt over the fence to return safely onto a large section of Tara furner. There is an obelisk erected by The Blue Lake to commemorate this feat.
